Who is responsible
Foldyo (“we”, “us”) is operated by Pedro Zenon Peña Segura, Mz. 39 Lt. 9, A.H. Arriba Perú, San Juan de Lurigancho, Lima 15423, Perú. You can contact us at contacto@foldyo.com.
The personal data described in this policy are part of the personal data bank “Users of the website”, registered in Peru’s National Register for Personal Data Protection under code PN-2026-374.
The short version
- Your files are processed on your own device. They are never uploaded to us or to any other server.
- You do not need an account, and the tools do not ask you for personal data.
- We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, but only for visitors located outside the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Gibraltar, Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man (together, “the European area”), and only if they accept it in the cookie banner. If you are in the European area, or if you decline, nothing is loaded from Google and no analytics cookies are set. The tools work the same either way.
Your files
When you use a tool, your browser reads the files you select and processes them locally with JavaScript. We never receive, store, copy or have access to those files or to the results. While you work, the files are held in your device’s memory; they are discarded when you close or reload the page. The files you download are saved by your browser on your device, under your control.
You can verify this yourself: open your browser’s developer tools, go to the Network tab, and process a file. No file data is sent.
Data we process
- Technical data when you visit the site (for example IP address, browser type, requested page, date and time). It is processed by our hosting provider in server logs so the site can be delivered, kept secure and protected from abuse. We do not use it to identify you.
- Your approximate country (for example “PE”), which our hosting provider derives from your IP address when a page loads. We use it only to decide whether to offer analytics, and we do not store it.
- Analytics data, only if you accept: pseudonymous identifiers stored in cookies, pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, the page that referred you, and events such as completing a tool (which tool and how many files). We never send file names or file contents.
- Messages you send us (for example by email). We use them only to answer you.
- Your cookie choice, stored in your browser (see below).
We do not collect names, email addresses, payment details or account information through the tools.
Cookies and local storage
For visitors outside the European area, this is everything the site may store on your device:
- foldyo_consent (local storage, set by us): records whether you accepted or declined analytics so we do not ask you again. It contains no personal data. It is needed to respect your choice and stays until you change it or clear your browser data.
- _ga (cookie, Google Analytics, only if you accept): distinguishes users. It expires after 2 years.
- _ga_<ID> (cookie, Google Analytics, only if you accept): keeps session state. It expires after 2 years.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we have turned off Google signals and ad personalisation in Google Analytics.
You can accept or decline analytics in the cookie banner and change your mind at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing your consent stops analytics and deletes the analytics cookies set by this site. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings. Declining does not limit your access to the site or the tools. Visitors in the European area do not see the cookie banner, and nothing from this list is stored for them.
Service providers
- Hosting and content delivery: Cloudflare, Inc., which processes technical data on our behalf to serve the pages.
- Email: Cloudflare (receives the messages sent to contacto@foldyo.com and forwards them) and Google (Gmail, the mailbox where we read them).
- Google (Google Analytics): processes analytics data on our behalf, only if you accept. Google’s own privacy policy applies to Google’s handling of that data.
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising.
Why we process data (legal bases)
- Analytics and the cookies it uses: your consent, as required by the data protection laws that apply to you (for example Brazil’s LGPD, Indonesia’s Personal Data Protection Law or Peru’s Law No. 29733). You can withdraw it at any time, and doing so does not affect processing carried out before.
- Server logs and site security: our legitimate interest in operating and protecting the site (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Messages you send us: our legitimate interest in answering your request.
- Remembering your cookie choice: it is strictly necessary to respect that choice.
We do not offer analytics to visitors located in the European area. Providing analytics data is optional: you can use every tool without accepting it. We do not make automated decisions about you and we do not profile you.
How long we keep data
- Server logs: kept by Cloudflare for the period set by its own policies.
- Google Analytics: event-level and user-level data are kept for 2 months; aggregated statistics, which do not identify you, may be kept longer. Analytics cookies last up to 2 years unless you delete them or withdraw consent.
- Your cookie choice: until you change it or clear your browser data.
- Emails: only as long as needed to answer you and keep a record of the conversation.
International transfers
Google and Cloudflare may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, such transfers rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy framework. You can ask us about them at contacto@foldyo.com.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR, Brazil’s LGPD, Indonesia’s Personal Data Protection Law or Peru’s Law No. 29733), you may have the right to confirm whether we process your data, to access it, to correct it, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, to be told that you may refuse consent and what that means, to withdraw your consent at any time, and to complain to your data protection authority (in Peru, the National Authority for Personal Data Protection of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights; in Brazil, the ANPD). Because analytics data is pseudonymous, we may need the identifier stored in your _ga cookie to find it. To exercise your rights, write to contacto@foldyo.com; we reply as soon as possible and always within the legal deadline that applies to you (for example, one month under the GDPR, and between 8 and 20 days in Peru depending on the right).
Children
Foldyo is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date of the latest update appears at the top of this page. If a change affects how we use cookies or analytics, we will ask for your consent again where the law requires it.
